A device used to splice alien genes into a human. Equip the splicer in the health interface and insert genetic materials in the splicer to activate the genes. Once spliced onto a living subject, genetic material cannot be removed without destroying it.

The Gene Splicer is an item that allows the player to equip refined Genetic Materials to gain semi-permanent new abilities.

Function

The basic splicer that can be crafted by anyone with the materials and has room for 1 splice. The advanced splicer can only be crafted by a medic with the Advanced Splicing Talent unlocked, but allows 2 splices to be used simultaneously. A splicer on a dead crew member will be placed in their Duffel Bag along with the rest of their inventory. This leaves any inserted splices intact, making it the only way to retrieve a splice once it has been equipped.

Usage

The Gene Splicer has an inventory where splices can be placed. Removing a splice will destroy it and cause 10 Organ Damage and 0.5 Stun . Removing the Gene Splicer will destroy all installed splices. A Gene Splicer can only be applied to yourself.
