An explosive compound mixed with highly radioactive material. Though the explosive payload is low, the ensuing fallout will catastrophically irradiate the area.

Dirty Bomb is an Explosive in Barotrauma.

Functions & Usage

Dirty Bomb causes relatively low direct damage to both entities and structures in the world, but leaves a large zone that applies heavy Radiation Sickness and can inflict very high damage over time to entities.

Dirty Bomb can be loaded inside Railgun shells ( Railgun Shell, Physicorium Shell, Nuclear Shell) and Depth Charge shells ( Depth Charge Shell, Depth Decoy Shell, Nuclear Depth Charge, Nuclear Depth Decoy) to explode on impact and deal additional damage. It can also be placed and then remotely detonated using a Detonator.

It is safe to handle.

Notes

  • The base damage of the explosive is distributed between all limbs in the radius of the explosion. For each affected limb, there is a 5% chance of 20 additional Bleeding and a 20% chance of 5 additional Burn.
  • The Dirty Bomb has a defined recipe. It can be observed in the Fabricator, but currently cannot be unlocked, making the item only obtainable from Separatist merchants.
