|~ Item's description.|
The Diving Mask is a piece of head Gear that provides oxygen with minimal interference to the wearer's agility.
Diving masks allow players to breathe when underwater, but do not protect from water pressure like the diving suits.
Diving masks can prove useful for repairing hull breaches in the event of minor flooding. While equipped they decrease movement speed by 10% and slightly decrease visibility.
Diving masks can also be useful when extinguishing fires onboard the submarine. Without it, the submariner may risk injuries from poor air quality in the burning room.
In order for the mask to function, an oxygen supply must be placed inside. This may be an Oxygen or Oxygenite tank, with the latter providing a longer supply, at the cost of being nonrefillable. Equipping a Welding Fuel Tank or Incendium Fuel Tank inside the mask will cause the player to asphyxiate, with the latter additionally causing burns.
Because the Diving Mask obstructs the user's face, it can be used to disguise oneself by wearing it in conjunction with another player's ID Card, much like a diving suit.
