Exploding Ammunition Boxes are Coilgun & Double Coilgun ammunition.

Description

Exploding Ammunition Boxes are a special type of ammo for the Coilgun and Double Coilgun. Unlike regular Coilgun Ammunition Boxes, expended rounds explode on contact with a surface or creature. Their high amount of damage combined with a big explosion area makes them a favorable choice for fighting any but the biggest threat. As a drawback, it is the only type of Coilgun or Double Coilgun ammo to hold a 100 rounds instead of 200.

Function

Exploding Ammunition Boxes can be placed inside Coilgun Loaders to be used as ammuniton for the linked Coilgun or Double Coilgun. Their rounds cause high amounts of Deep Tissue Injuries and minor amounts of Bleeding.

Notes

  • In spite of having only half the shot capacity of normal Coilgun Ammunition, Explosive Coilgun Ammunition sports both superior damage per shot and damage per box. A normal coilgun bolt will inflict 15 damage. An exploding coilgun bolt will inflict 55 damage per bolt to a single target. Assuming every shot in a box will connect, a Coilgun Ammunition box will inflict 3000 over its use, whereas an Exploding Ammunition box will inflict 5500 over its use.
  • With respect to the aforementioned statement, although regular Coilgun Ammunition seems extraordinarily underwhelming: it usually performs better in practice than in theory. This is because it benefits more from weakspot damage modifiers than exploding ammunition, as it inflicts more direct-hit damage.
