The Flak Cannon is a Submarine Weapon in Barotrauma.

Function

The Flak Cannon is designed to handle large swarms of hostile creatures. It's characterized by its low rate of fire and high damage proximity triggered shells. It is installed on a Large Turret Hardpoint.

Usage

Like other Turrets, Periscopes are typically used to aim and fire Flak Cannons. Firing Flak Cannons draws power from connected Supercapacitors, as well as ammunition from linked Loaders.

Ammunition

There are 4 types of Flak Cannon ammunition:
Spreader: Base ammo. Useful against swarms due to the wide spread damaging many creatures in a big area.
Focused: Has a tighter spread for focusing far-away enemies or tight groups.
Physicorium: Has a medium spread and high damage, good against most targets at any range.
Explosive: Shrapnels are spread in a big area and explode, strong against any target or any group of targets.
