The Ancient Weapon is a weapon of alien design that can be very rarely found within the Alien Ruins. It takes up both hands when equipped. It is a medium item and can not stored in toolbelts or medicine cabinets.

Function

When activated, the weapon will fire a medium range beam, dealing low Burn damage, high structure damage, and a lot of recoil It can also be used as ammunition for the Railgun, dealing as much damage as a nuclear railgun shell to creatures and 5 times that to structures, although due to the extreme rarity of the weapon this is inadvisable.

Trivia

• Internally, the Ancient Weapon is not a weapon at all, but rather a Tool that does damage to structures instead of repairing them as a Welding Tool would. Due to this, it is essentially an upgraded version of the Plasma Cutter.
  • However, unlike the Plasma Cutter it cannot be used to unseal doors.
