It should be noted that the SMG has a lot of spread, further made worse for Characters with inadequate Weapons skill (less than 50), who will suffer from even worse spread, greatly nullifying the effective accuracy of the gun outside of point-blank range.

The SMG can be appealing to a submariner who desires plenty of firepower without sacrificing a significant potion of inventory space. Spare magazines can be efficiently carried (in a [[toolbox]], for instance) and the contained ammunition within quickly adds up. This is further compounded by how the SMG can be reloaded rapidly compared to other small arms.

The SMG is a handheld weapon added as part of the Saints and Sinners update.

Function

The SMG is a short range weapon, shooting lots of bullets from a detachable magazine. The SMG functions both on board of the submarine and underwater, although its bullet spread makes it unreliable at hitting faraway targets. Like every other bullet weapon, ammo cannot be recovered nor reused. The SMG needs a Magazine to function, each of which holds 15 bullets (they can not be accessed)

SMG bullets deliver a small amount of Damage and leave Gunshot Wounds, making them very effective at stopping the bleedable denizens of Europa, such as Crawlers, Mud Raptors and Traitors.

Spare magazines can be efficiently carried (in a toolbox, for instance) and the contained ammunition within quickly adds up. This is further compounded by how the SMG can be reloaded rapidly compared to other small arms.

Usage

The SMG requires both hands to be equipped and must have a loaded Magazine to be able to fire. By default, the right mouse button aims the SMG toward the cursor. Left-clicking will then fire a bullet in the corresponding direction, by holding down the Left Mouse button you can continue firing until the Magazine runs out of bullets.

Depleted magazines can not be refilled, thus, they should be deconstructed into Plastic.

Trivia

  • Magazines don't actually have 15 bullets inside, like the Coilgun, they spawn Bullets on demand as long as the Magazine has enough durability
  • The SMG can not be crafted, albeit it can be Deconstructed into raw materials. The same happens with the SMG Magazines
