The Ancient Weapon is a weapon of alien design that can be very rarely found within the Alien Ruins. It takes up both hands when equipped. It is a medium item and can not stored in toolbelts or medicine cabinets.
Function
When activated, the weapon will fire a long range beam. The beam itself does low damage, but the fact that it is constantly applying said damage makes it rapidly build up to massive damage in seconds, decimating humans, creatures and submarine hulls alike.
It can also be used as ammunition for the Railgun, dealing as much damage as a nuclear railgun shell to creatures and 5 times that to structures, although due to the extreme rarity of the weapon this is inadvisable.

Trivia
- Internally, the Ancient Weapon is not a weapon at all, but rather a Tool that does damage to structures instead of repairing them as a Welding Tool would. Due to this, it is essentially an upgraded version of the Plasma Cutter.
- However, unlike the Plasma Cutter it cannot be used to unseal doors.
