The Riot Shotgun is a handheld weapon added as part of the Saints and Sinners update.

Function

The Riot Shotgun is a short range weapon, which fires multiple pellets with one shot. The Riot Shotgun functions both on board of the submarine and underwater, albeit it's bullet spread makes it difficult at hitting faraway target. Like every other firearm, spent ammunition cannot be recovered nor reused. Shotgun rounds deliver a larger amount of Damage at closer distances and leave Gunshot Wounds, so they are pretty effective at stopping the bleed-able denizens of Europa, such as Crawlers, Mud Raptors and Traitors.

It should be noted that the weapon has a lot of spread, further made worse for Characters with inadequate Weapons skill (less than 50), who will suffer from even worse spread, greatly nullifying the effective accuracy of the gun outside of point-blank range.

Usage

The Shotgun requires both hands to be equipped and must have shotgun rounds to be able to fire. By default, the right mouse button aims the weapon toward the cursor. Left-clicking will then fire a shell in the corresponding direction.
