The harpoon gun is a handheld weapon that can be acquired in Barotrauma.
Function
The harpoon gun is capable of launching a spear from the barrel, which can strike another crew member or creature. The damage done by the spear is weak and inflicts minimal bleeding on the target. It however is capable of stunning the target, which can prove useful should the player need to escape from a hostile situation.
When a spear hits a target it will attach and get to them. After shooting, spears can be picked up and reused.
Usage
The harpoon gun requires both hands to equip. Holding down the right-click (mouse2) button will aim the weapon in whichever direction your cursor is positioned. Left-clicking (mouse1) will then fire the loaded ammunition.

Trivia
- Pre-release videos for the game showed that spears were originally going to have a rope attached between them and the harpoon gun. This would allow the player to retract a spear back into the barrel of the gun after launching it.
