The Wrench is a Tool in Barotrauma.
Description
The Wrench is a one-handed tool which can be used as a Melee Weapon. It has a short range and inflicts a minor amount of Blunt Force Trauma. It should exclusively be used as a last resort weapon. Its main purpose is performing mechanical repairs on installations which are in need of them. It is also used to detach certain devices from walls, such as Wiring Components or Buttons.
It can be crafted by anyone or bought at any Outpost.
Function
The Wrench is held with one hand. As with all weapons and tools, using it is done by holding the Right-click to take aim, then by Left-clicking to shoot/use.
- It can be used to repair mechanical installations by pressing the "Use" keybind ( by default) on an installation to open the repair GUI and starting the repairs.
- Attempting a repair while not having the required Mechanical Engineering skill takes a lot longer and presents a risk of failure, which interrupts the repair and inflicts Lacerations and Stun.
- It can also be used to detach items from the wall by pressing the "Use" keybind ( by default) on an item to start detaching it.
- Its one-handed, meaning it can be dual-wielded, essentially doubling the DPS, but it does not increase the repair speed.
The Wrench gains 10% Repair Speed per quality level. (10% / 20% / 30%)
