The Autoshotgun is a two-handed short-range large-size firearm. It fires {{hl|Shotgun Shell|s=s|20}} or {{hl|Shotgun Rubber Shell|20}} loaded with eight pellets spread randomly in a 15° or, alternatively, one bullet from an {{hl|Explosive Slug|20}}. Shotgun Shells deal larger amounts of damage at close range, where more pellets may hit, but individual pellets deal the same damage at any range.


The Autoshotgun is a quick-firing shotgun with 4 slots for 6 shells each (for a total of 24 shots), allowing the player to use {{hl|Explosive Slug|20|s=s}}, {{hl|Shotgun Rubber Shell|20|s=s}}, and {{hl|Shotgun Shell|20|s=s}} alternately. The user is able to fire all 24 shots without the need to reload, as well as choose which type of ammunition to fire next by dragging the required type to the bottom left ammunition slot on the Autoshotgun.

The Autoshotgun is a Handheld Ranged Weapon in Barotrauma.

Description

The Autoshotgun is a two-handed short-range large-size firearm. It fires Shotgun Shells or Shotgun Rubber Shell loaded with eight pellets spread randomly in a 15° or, alternatively, one bullet from an Explosive Slug. Shotgun Shells deal larger amounts of damage at close range, where more pellets may hit, but individual pellets deal the same damage at any range.

It can be crafted by a Security Officer with the Pacification Kit talent unlocked, or it can be bought from Coalition Military Outposts if the player has at least 70 Reputation with the Europa Coalition.

Function

The Autoshotgun is held with both hands and must be loaded with Shotgun Shells, Shotgun Rubber Shells, or Explosive Slugs to be used. As with all weapons and tools, using it is done by holding the Right Mouse Right-click to take aim, then by Left Mouse Left-clicking to shoot/use.

  • It has 2 slots for ammunition that can hold up to 12 shells each, for 24 in total.
  • Like most two-handed weapons, the Autoshotgun has a Flashlight slot. The inserted Flashlight automatically turns on whenever the weapon is drawn.
  • It should be noted that the Autoshotgun has a wide spread even for skilled users. Therefore, in the hands of the unskilled, the spread greatly reduces the weapon's utility outside of point-blank range.
  • Due to the Autoshotgun's size, it cannot be carried in the hotbar. It can only be held in both hands, or in the Gear slot, which hangs it from the character's back.
