Note that Handcannon Rounds have 60% armor penetration, thus it will ignore 60% of armor resistances. For instance, Body Armor with a resistance of 80% will only reduce damage by 32%. This does not apply to resistances such as [[human]] innate (50%) or those given by [[Vigor]].

The Handcannon is a Handheld Ranged Weapon in Barotrauma.

Description

The Handcannon is a two-handed long-range small-size firearm. It packs a punch and is a substantial upgrade over its smaller, less powerful cousin, the Revolver. The Handcannon is most useful at quickly dispatching the smaller to medium-sized denizens of Europa, such as Husks, Crawlers, Mudraptors, and even the fierce Mudraptor Veteran. Making this possible is the humongous, .61 caliber Handcannon Round, with a 50% armor penetration and 100% severance chance.

It can be crafted by a Captain with the Big Guns talent; It cannot be bought at any Outpost.

Function

The Handcannon is held with both hands and must be loaded with Handcannon Rounds to be used. As with all weapons and tools, using it is done by holding the Right Mouse Right-click to take aim, then by Left Mouse Left-clicking to shoot/use.

  • It has a single slot for ammunition that can contain up to 6 rounds.
  • Like most two-handed weapons, the Handcannon has a Flashlight slot. The inserted Flashlight automatically turns on whenever the weapon is drawn.
  • It can be stored in the inventory.
