The Autoshotgun is a handheld firearm added as part of the Among the Ancients update. It can be crafted by a Security Officer with the Implacable talent unlocked.

Function

The Autoshotgun is a quick-firing shotgun with 4 slots for 8 shells each, allowing the player to use Explosive Slugs and Shotgun Shells alternately. The user is able to fire all 32 shots without the need to reload, as well as choose which type of ammunition to fire next by dragging the required type to the bottom left ammunition slot on the Autoshotgun.

An Explosive Slug fires a single projectile, while a Shotgun Shell fires 8 pellets in a spreading pattern, which makes it difficult to hit distant targets. As for every other firearm, used ammunition cannot be recovered.

It should be noted that the Autoshotgun has a wide spread even for skilled users. Therefore, in the hands of the unskilled, the spread greatly reduces the weapon's utility outside of point-blank range.

It cannot be placed on a character's hotbar, and must instead either be carried in its hands, or in the Toolbelt-slot.

Usage

The Autoshotgun is held with both hands and must be loaded with Shotgun Shells or Explosive Slugs to be used. As with all weapons and tools, using it is done by holding the Right Mouse Right-click to take aim, then by Left Mouse Left-clicking to shoot/use.
