The Ancient Weapon is a weapon of alien design that can be very rarely found within the Alien Ruins. It takes up both hands when equipped. It is a medium item and cannot stored in toolbelts.

Function

The Ancient Weapon is held with both hands and must be loaded with Alien Power Cells to be used. As with all weapons and tools, using it is done by holding the Right-click to take aim, then by Left-clicking to shoot/use.

When in use, the weapon will fire a medium range beam, dealing Burn damage, high structure damage, and extreme recoil. The recoil is strong enough allow players to "fly", once airborne.

Trivia

• Internally, the Ancient Weapon is not a weapon at all, but rather a Tool that does damage to structures instead of repairing them as a Welding Tool would. Due to this, it is essentially an upgraded version of the Plasma Cutter.
  • However, unlike the Plasma Cutter it cannot be used to detach Ores.
