Alien Blood is a basic chemical item dropped by many Creatures.

Function

Alien Blood can be used to treat Bloodloss extremely effectively. When applied, it will reduce the affliction strength by 120 over a period of 15 seconds, which translates into a maximum of 240 vitality for a character with 100 max vitality. Blood packs can be applied to any limb, and its effects will be spread to all limbs equally. It treats Bloodloss identically to Blood Packs.

Bloodloss is caused by the Bleeding affliction and Swarm Feeders.

Usage

Like all Medical Items, Alien Blood can be applied through the Health GUI (Default Key H). See this page for more information on usage.

Alien Blood cannot be loaded into a Syringe Gun, and cannot be swung from the hand. It can only be applied in the Health GUI.

Alien Blood is also used to craft Blood Packs in the Medical Fabricator.

Notes

Alien Blood is an effective way to treat Bloodloss, and is a much cheaper alternative to Saline and Blood Packs. Alien Blood can be found easily by looting creatures; most creatures drop 1-2 upon death. It treats Bloodloss identically to Blood Packs, (that is to say, extremely effectively) for no downsides.

Prior to the 0.21 update, Alien Blood inflicted a moderate amount of Psychosis as a side-effect. It is currently unknown whether this is an intentional change.

With the Bloody Business talent, applying Alien Blood reduces Psychosis by 22.5. This can be a way to cheaply treat Psychosis.
