The Huskified Storage Container is a Pet.
The Huskified Storage Container is a Pet sold exclusively by the Church of the Husk.
Description
The Huskified Storage Container is a Husk Parasite confined within a Storage Container. It has three appendages which protrude out the front of the Storage Container which it uses to move itself around and attack creatures.
In-Game
The Huskified Storage Container has 12 inventory slots that can be accessed by grabbing the creature using the key. It can contain any small or medium item, but cannot store large items such as the Guitar, Diving Suit, or Grenade Launcher. It will avoid anything it considers stronger or weaker than itself, and prefers to follow Humans around the submarine.
Like every pet, the Huskified Storage Container will attack anything that causes harm to its owner. However, if a player attacks a Husk near a Huskified Storage Container, it will become aggressive towards the player. This behavior can occur even if the owner attacks a Husk, as the priority to protect a Husk is higher than the owner.
It also has two kinds of hidden behaviors that the crew needs to pay attention to: Hunger and Happiness.
Hunger
Every Pet needs to eat to relinquish their Hunger, which increases by 0.03% every second (maximum hunger reached in 3333 seconds or roughly 1 hour). At 30% Hunger, Pets become hungry and the Hunger icon will appear above their head to notify the crew that they need feeding. The player can feed them by dropping an appropriate food item on the ground and the tamed Creature will approach and consume it immediately. It stops requiring food when Hunger is below 30%.
There are four Pet Food types that Pets can consume: type 1, type 2, type 3, and monster food. Corpses can be consumed by the Huskified Storage Container if its hunger is anywhere between 0-100%. Corpses will completely feed the Huskified Storage Container and provide 10 happiness. The Huskified Storage Container can eat Pet Food type 3 and Alien Blood, which satiates 50% Hunger and increases 5% Happiness.
Items that can be consumed by the Huskified Storage Container include:
- Any corpses
- Fruits: Pomegrenade and Raptor Bane. (NOTE: The Mutated Pomegrenade and the Mutated Raptor Bane are also Pet Food type 3 but are deemed risky and unreliable as the Mutated Pomegrenade explodes on impact when dropped and the Mutated Raptor Bane splatters on impact when dropped)
- Materials: Aluminum, Copper, Iron, Lead, Tin, Titanium, Steel Bar, and Titanium-Aluminum Alloy.
- Medical: Alien Blood, Saline.
- Pet Food
Due to the priority order of behaviors, the Huskified Storage Container will prefer to protect its owner or a Husk over eating food. This can lead to unintentional pet deaths as a distraught owner tries to feed their pet, unknowingly being the reason the pet refuses to eat. To prevent this, ensure the owner is at least 2 meters from the pet during feeding times, and make sure Husks are nowhere near the Huskified Storage Container.
Happiness
The Happiness is the state of Pets that ensures the occurrence of high quality item production.
The Huskified Storage Container's Happiness decreases by 0.016% every second (maximum duration of 6250 seconds or 104 minutes) and can be increased by being fed or played with. There is a 6 second cooldown before the player can play with it again.
When Happiness is high enough and Hunger is below 30%, the Happy icon will appear above its head. But if Happiness is low enough regardless of Hunger rate, the Sad icon will appear instead.
Production
When well-fed (0-30% Hunger) and between 80-100% happiness, the Huskified Storage Container has a 50% chance to produce Velonaceps Calyx Eggs.
All produced items are dropped on the ground from the respective Pets, which can be harvested simply by picking them up.
