The Giant Spineling is a stronger variant of the Spineling.

Description

The Giant Spineling is significantly larger than the Spineling. Despite its size, however, it remains just as nimble as its smaller counterpart. The Giant Spineling is covered in a green moss-like substance and has drastically less spikes around its body. Its tail-end is shaped like a flipper, which perhaps is the source of its speed relative to its size, as such a flipper is absent on regular Spinelings.

In-game

Giant Spinelings only spawn within a swarm of Spineling. They typically come in packs of 2, however in higher difficulty areas up to 3 can spawn at a time.

Trivia

• The Giant Spineling was first introduced in the 0.16.6.0 (Rising Tide) update.
• The projectiles fired by the Giant Spineling are larger than humans.
• The spawn tag for the Giant Spineling is "spineling_giant". Without the "_", the console command to spawn it does not work.
