Description
The Giant Spineling is significantly larger than the Spineling. Despite its size, however, it remains just as nimble as its smaller counterpart. The Giant Spineling is covered in a green moss-like substance and has drastically less spikes around its body. Its tail-end is shaped like a flipper, which perhaps is the source of its speed relative to its size, as such a flipper is absent on regular Spinelings.
In-game
Giant Spinelings only spawn within a swarm of Spineling. They typically come in packs of 2, however in higher difficulty areas up to 3 can spawn at a time.

Trivia
- The Giant Spineling was first introduced in the 0.16.6.0 (Rising Tide) update.
- The projectiles fired by the Giant Spineling are larger than humans.
- The spawn tag for the Giant Spineling is "spineling_giant". Without the "_", the console command to spawn it does not work.
