The Endworm is a titanic, worm-like creature, named after its ability to "end" the lives of anybody who comes across it. It is the largest and most destructive creature in Europa's ocean.
Description
The Endworm itself is a massive leviathan, a serpent-like monster consisting of a stone-like armor shell and a dark brown-black fleshy body. It is incredibly fast, aggressive, and durable enough to withstand nuclear ordinance, but still has certain vulnerabilities. Its presence is often preluded by its constant monstrous roaring.
In-game
The Endworm is extremely aggressive, to the point of mercilessly and rapidly slaughtering any living creature around itself before assaulting the submarine (or unlucky shuttle) itself. Once the Endworm decides to attack the submarine proper, it will quickly beeline towards it from a considerable distance and random angle before delivering a catastrophic blow. Said blow will often violently push the submarine, causing subsequent damage from impact with cave walls. The Endworm will then retreat and circle the submarine from afar before attacking again. The Endworm however isn't invincible, and like any other creature can be somewhat quickly neutralized if properly dealt with. One of the methods for quickly ending the Endworm is to decapitate it, carefully aiming for the armor plates surrounding the head and the soft flesh beneath it. This will either kill it on the spot or leave it helpless.
The Endworm only spawns in the "Abyss" at great depths, and makes its presence known from afar with its constant roaring and obviously large signature on sonar screens.

Trivia
- The Endworm bears a strong resemblance to the Nereididae family of marine worms, in particular the orange-brown Alitta succinea.
- The Endworm was temporarily removed from the game, then brought back in 0.13.0.11 (Embrace the Abyss). The legacy version can be found here.
