The Gold Hammerhead is a creature from Barotrauma which may occasionally spawn as a replacement for the Hammerhead.
Description
Gold Hammerheads are Gold-colored variants of the Hammerhead, and while considerably weaker than their common variant, they make up for it with one of the fastest speeds and mobility of any creature ingame.
Gold Hammerheads possess a hardened blunt head, strong enough to punch holes in hulls, and also feature the Hammerhead trademark; four scythe-like limbs, each of which can inflict very heavy Bleeding on any living creature, with 360º of reach. As its name implies, the Gold Hammerhead has gold-colored, somewhat shiny skin, and two motionless fins to act as stabilizers.
Gold Hammerheads may spawn as a replacement for a Hammerhead, the chance of which depends on the game difficulty. Gold Hammerheads present a similar threat level to the common Hammerhead.
Dead Gold Hammerheads can be scavenged for a Swim Bladder and a unit of Alien Blood.
In-game
The Gold Hammerhead will attack the Submarine in hit-and-run attacks, punching holes in the Hull with its head and retreating to strike again. Lone Divers will be chased and Bled to death. However, they are very fragile, and any of the Submarine Mounted guns is extremely effective, as long as a skilled Gunner can predict its movement.
