The Status Monitor is an installation in Barotrauma. It allows players to quickly ascertain the level of water present in each section of the submarine, making attempts to find and fix floodings much easier.
Usage
Using the Status Monitor will bring up an interface with possible categories; General Status, Electrical View, and Item Finder. This item can prove useful for finding the location of hull breaches, items, and broken electrical components.
General Status
The first tab on the Status Monitor will bring up a schematic view of the current submarine, in which every room is represented by either green or blue bordered rectangles. Each rectangle indicates a set of linked Hull sections designed in the Submarine Editor. The green rectangles indicate dry rooms, while the blue indicating wet rooms (such as airlocks, ballast tanks, etc.) Additionally, smaller outlines will appear wherever there is a door or hatch, and a job icon will indicate where certain crew members are located within the sub.
This tab will also show the status of each room; its water percentage, hull integrity, and oxygen quality. The current level of water in a section is signified by the room on the monitor filling up with the color blue, hull breaches will glow a bright orange, and the fill color of a room fading to red depicts the decreasing oxygen. Hovering over a room on the status monitor will also show you the name of the room, as well the exact number for the water percentage and oxygen quality.
A list of reports will show underneath the schematic. Simply clicking on one of the options will report the issue in your current room (the same as clicking the button next to your chat would). You can also drag and drop one of the icons to report an issue in another location.
Electrical View
The second tab on the Status Monitor shows a schematic view of the current submarine, with icons placed over all of the electrical components (eg. the status monitor, batteries, junction boxes, pumps, etc.) Hovering over any of these icons will display extra information relevant to the installation, such as power consumption, durability, or remaining power.
Item Finder
The third tab on the Status Monitor shows a chematic view of the current submarine, with a search bar placed along the bottom. Typing the name of any item currently on the ship will show you every instance of that item exists, allowing you to more easily locate missing items.
Searching for items in this way includes any items on the floor, hidden in loose vents, or placed in locked containers.
