However, it no longer increases {{hl|Underwater Scooter|20}} propulsion speed, instead it slows it down slightly. It provides slightly lower protection against most [[Afflictions]] but the same Pressure Resistance - for up to 6000 meters of depth. It incorporates a built-in light and a breathing gas supply that allows the user to breathe underwater, provided that the breathing supplies are filled. Due to its construction, it reduces its user's field of view and muffles certain sounds.

The suit allows the player to breathe while underwater when an oxygen supply is provided. Unlike other [[Diving Suit (disambiguation)|Diving Suits]], the PUCS will not drain oxygen from the tank while in an oxygenated room, and thus can safely be used without an oxygen supply, as long as the player does not enter water. It also protects the player from the pressure of the ocean, allowing them to exit the submarine and enter rooms that are pressurized due to breaches. The maximum depth of the suit is increased somewhat over regular diving suits, allowing the player to safely reach up to 6,000m in depth.

The PUCS has a slot that can contain a single medical/chemical item, similar to the [[Auto-Injector Headset]], which is automatically used on the wearer when they reach or drop below 50% vitality. If wearing both auto-injector headset and PUCS, both will use their item simultaneously upon reaching the threshold. Auto-injecting an item bypasses the medical skill check for it and the wearer will always receive the maximum benefit of the item as if the check was passed, regardless of its skill requirement and the wearer's medical skill.

The PUCS has a light which illuminates a small area in front of the player, this light will be on as long as the player is alive.

The PUCS is an Outerwear in Barotrauma.

Description

The PUCS is a protective and pressure-resistant Outerwear. It's an upgrade over the Combat Diving Suit, specialized in environment protection due to the extreme amount of protection against Burns and Radiation Sickness. However, it no longer increases Underwater Scooter propulsion speed, instead it slows it down slightly. It provides slightly lower protection against most Afflictions but the same Pressure Resistance - for up to 6000 meters of depth. It incorporates a built-in light and a breathing gas supply that allows the user to breathe underwater, provided that the breathing supplies are filled. Due to its construction, it reduces its user's field of view and muffles certain sounds.


It can be crafted by an Engineer with the Ph.D in Nuclear Physics talent unlocked, or it can be bought from Coalition Colonies if the player has at least 70 Reputation with the Europa Coalition.

Function
