The Velonaceps Calyx or 'husk parasite' likes to bind itself to calcium, regardless of whether it's inside human bones or neatly packed inside a syringe.

Calyx Extract is a toxin.
Function
Calyx Extract is used to infect someone with 
Husk Infection . It does not speed up husk infections if administered to an already-infected character.
Husk Infection can also be spread when a human or crawler gets attacked by a Husked Crawler, Husk, or Husked Human.
Usage
Like many Medical Items, Calyx Extract can be applied using the Health GUI (Default Key:
). See this page for more information on usage.
Calyx Extract can be loaded into a 
Syringe Gun and can be swung by the hand to apply its effects on whatever it hits.
Notes
Husk Infection is a dangerous affliction as if it goes unnoticed, it can cause an outbreak within your submarine. Husk Infection progresses by 1 every second and is not noticable until it reaches 40 strength (20 if using the 
Health Scanner HUD). The main positive outcomes that come from being infected with Husk Infection is when it reaches 75-100 strength (though you die at 100), you gain the ability to breath in water, are immune to pressure (exception being when you enter the Abyss), and gain a special infectious attack (Default Key:
) that can be used to attack and infect others with Husk Infection.
Husk Infection can be used by using 
Calyxanide.
