The poorly understood "Piezo Crystals" found in The Great Sea pose some extra challenges to crews travelling through the region: Navigating too close to one may cause disruptions in the submarine's electrical grid.
–Loading Screen Tip

Piezo Crystals are environmental objects that drain power from nearby submarines. They periodically discharge, adding a heavy load on all Junction Boxes and draining charge from Batteries and Supercapacitors, rendering a submarine almost certainly momentarily unpowered and vulnerable.

Identification

Piezo Crystals show up on sonar as a bright ellipsoid, and spawn in clusters against the rock walls in The Great Void.

Exactly 23 Piezo Crystals will spawn in a level.

Effects

Piezo Crystals will zap a junction box up to 30 meters meters away, temporarily adding a 500Kw load on that junction box. This effect has a 1 second cooldown.

Destruction

Piezo Crystals have 100 Health and can be damaged by conventional Weapons, Welding Tools, and Plasma Cutters.

Piezo Crystals explode violently upon destruction.

Damage Values

Piezo Crystals explode violently on destruction, dealing massive damage in a large radius.
