Helmets are designed to provide the wearer with protection against blunt, sharp and projectile weapons. They come in three types: Ballistic Helmet, Gunner's Helmet, and Riot Helmet.
Security Officers start with one of the Helmets as part of their loadouts.
All types of Helmets are functionally identical. The only differences are their descriptions and sprites.
