== Usage ==
= Function =


Flares are a single-use item that can be lit, carried, and/or thrown to create a temporary source of light. They can be used in low-light situations such as [[Nuclear Reactor|reactor]] power-up, power failure, cave diving, and [[Alien Ruins|Alien Ruin]] exploration.  
It can be thrown by holding {{key|mouse|right}} RMB and and then clicking {{key|mouse|left}} LMB, and is activated by clicking {{key|mouse|left}} LMB (thrown or not).
* It emits a bright red light in a 6m radius for 6 minutes and 40 seconds before fully depleted.
* It attracts the attention of [[creatures]] within a large radius (40m base, affected by the creature's sight) when active.
* It floats in place when in water.


A lit flare will burn for 400 seconds, or six minutes and forty seconds. Lit flares flicker throughout their burn time.

Description

The flare is a depletable, throwable, light-emitting item mainly used in outside expeditions. It emits a bright red light once activated.

It can be bought at most outposts or fabricated.

Function

It can be thrown by holding Right Mouse RMB and and then clicking Left Mouse LMB, and is activated by clicking Left Mouse LMB (thrown or not).

  • It emits a bright red light in a 6m radius for 6 minutes and 40 seconds before fully depleted.
  • It attracts the attention of creatures within a large radius (40m base, affected by the creature's sight) when active.
  • It floats in place when in water.
