The Moloch are enormous crustacean-like creatures that are capable of massive damage to your submarine. Killing one is also a quest.

In-game

The moloch are slow, and easy to spot creatures in the radar due to their immense size. Primarily, this makes them easy to detect, and avoid. If one reaches the submarine, they will easily cause catastrophic leaks, and damages just by bumping it's head against the hull of your submarine.
