Detonators are devices used to activate Explosives remotely.
Description
Timed Detonators contain a single item slot for an explosive, which can be accessed by while it is in the inventory, or by clicking on it while it is placed down. Only items with the "explosive" tag may be placed inside.
While equipped in the inventory or being accessed when placed down, an interface will be accessible where the detonator may be armed, and the timer may be increased or decreased. By default, the timer is 8 seconds.
Function
- It can be placed by aiming and clicking on the grid that appears.
- To detonate the explosive, it needs to be armed, at which point the timer will begin to count down. Once the timer reaches zero, the contained explosive will be detonated. The detonator does not need to be placed down to function.
- The timer can be increased or decreased at any time, including while the detonator is armed and counting down.
- If the timed detonator is armed while the timer is set to zero, it will immediately detonate.
- Detonators will be damaged by the explosion that is set off by the contained explosive, and will be destroyed if the explosion deals 100 or more item damage.
- Stun Grenades, EMP Grenades, and Acid Grenades are the only containable explosives that deal sufficiently low item damage (in fact, they each deal zero item damage) and so detonators using these items can be reused.
- Detonators will not be damaged by explosions that were not set off inside themselves.
