The Security Officer is a playable Job.

The backbone of violence.

Description

Security Officers are responsible for keeping the submarine safe from threats, both in and outside the submarine. The Security Officer's ID card provides access to any Doors or Containers related to their job in the submarine.

There can be a maximum of 2 Security Officers, though none are required.

Security Officers have 110 base vitality, 10 more than the default 100.

Hired Security Officers cost 15% more than usual.

Talents

Security Officers Talents mostly focus on making them better at protecting the rest of the crew and providing them better gear by increasing their offensive capabilites and unlocking recipes for many powerful weapons.

The Frogman Specialization focuses heavily on making the Security Officer more proficient at fighting outside of the Sub. It unlocks the recipe for the Harpoon Coil-Rifle, a huge upgrade over the regular Harpoon Gun, alongside granting them many buffs that it benefits from greatly, and a recipe for the Slipsuit which makes fighting and maneouvering in water much easier, but at the cost of more difficult movement in dry conditions.

The Enforcer Specialization makes them a force to be reckoned with in any close-quaters combat situation by unlocking the recipe for the Autoshotgun, which is a huge upgrade over the regular Riot Shotgun and greatly buffing their defensive capabilities. It also unlocks the recipe for the Fulgurium Stun Gun Dart which is capable of stunning any human-sized target for a couple of seconds, and the Riot Shield which can help in keeping order on board, or be used to support crewmates with ranged weapons by crouching in front of them.

The Gunner Specialization revolves around overpowering any threat with a rain of bullets from a distance. It unlocks a recipe for the Rifle, a very capable long range bolt-action weapon with the possibility of attaching and shooting a 40mm Grenade, a recipe for the Assault Rifle which is an upgrade over the SMG, and a recipe for the powerful HMG which is unmatched in its offensive capabilities and can easily deal with entire swarms on its own. It also buffs the Security Officer and one of their crewmates' offensive capabilties when using Turrets, and their explosives-making skills.


General

Buff

Gain an additional 50% Buff Duration. Gain an additional 25% Opiate addiction resistance.

First Aid Training

Gain a bonus of 15 to Medical. Medical items are 35% more potent when applied to you.

Physical Conditioning

Gain an additional 10% Movement Speed. Gain an additional 30% Oxygen low resistance.

Protect and Serve

Gain 15% bonus XP when completing a Escort mission.

Swole

Gain an additional 10% Maximum Health.
Gain an additional 25% Melee Power.

War Stories

Gain 80 bonus XP when completing a mission in which you killed at least 2 creatures.

Bootcamp

Whenever you finish a mission without a crewmember dying, you gain an additional 35% experience. The deaths of assistants do not count.

By the Book

Whenever you finish at least one mission, your crew gains an additional 1250 marks and 200 experience for each captured, live enemy human on board your ship, up to a maximum of 2500 marks and 400 experience.

Don't Push It

Unlock recipe: Bandolier, Explosive Slug.

Munitions Expertise

Unlock recipe: SMG Magazine, Shotgun Shell.

Weaponsmith

Weapons you fabricate are of 1 higher quality. Unlock recipe: Riot Shotgun, SMG.
Frogman Enforcer Gunner

Boarding Party

Unlock recipe: Boarding Axe, Slipsuit, Harpoon Coil-Rifle.

Pacification Kit

Unlock recipe: Autoshotgun, Fulgurium Stun Gun Dart, Riot Shield.

Rifleman

Inflict 10% more damage with Rifles. Unlock recipe: Assault Rifle, Assault Rifle Magazine, Rifle, Rifle Round.

Scavenger

Whenever you open a container outside your submarine for the first time, you have a 25% chance of finding additional items.

Slayer

Gain an additional 25% attack power with harpoons. If you are in the open sea, gain an additional 50% attack power to Harpoons instead.

Beat Cop

Inflict 25% more stun. Doubled against monsters inside the submarine.

Stonewall

Whenever you are attacked, gain an additional 25% physical damage resistance and 25% stun resistance for 4 seconds.

Commando

When firing a ranged weapon while crouched, you gain 70% reduction to spread and inflict 10% more damage.

Tandem Fire

As long as you are manning a turret alongside another allied crewmember, both of your attacks are 20% more powerful. Only the closest allied crewmember gains this effect.

Daring Dolphin

Gain an additional 25% Swimming Speed.

Easy Turtle

Take 20% less damage from attacks while you are in water.

Crusty Seaman

Recover from bleeding much more quickly.

Inordinate Exsanguination

Inflict 100% more Bleeding damage.

Extra Powder

Explosions have 20% larger radius and deal 10% more damage. Explosives you fabricate are of 1 higher quality.

Gun Runner

You move 25% faster while carrying turret ammunition. Walk 20% faster while aiming.

Spec-Ops

Unlock recipe: Thermal Goggles. Inflict double (non-turret) damage against full health enemies.

Implacable

Whenever you fall below 0 health, you will remain fully conscious and your attacks are 25% more powerful for 15 seconds. This effect can only occur once per life each round.

Warlord

Inflict 10% more damage with ranged weapons for every nearby enemy. Up to 50%. Unlock recipe: HMG, HMG Magazine.
  • The "additional items" from Scavenger means respawning the container loot.
  • Implacable does not heal the conditions that would cause you to go unconscious, it simply prevents going unconscious for 15 seconds. As such, you will pass out (and possibly succumb to your injuries) if 15 seconds pass and you have not raised your vitality above 0.
  • Holding the crouch key underwater will still activate Commando even though crouching is impossible underwater.
  • Crusty Seaman increases the rate of recovery from bleed from 0.1 per second to 1 per second, a 10x increase.
  • Tandem Fire simply checks for players operating periscopes with no regard if that periscope is actually linked to a turret.
  • The Tandem Fire buff lasts for 2 seconds and increases attack power, allowing for stronger attacks after stopping using a periscope for a brief time.
