'Charybdis isn't a big deal. You can hear it from a big distance and you can see red lines on your sonar when charybdis is screaming. It is recommended to have fully upgraded hull and turrets range and at least 2 railguns with nukes on your sub. Charybdis is attacking your sub like a hammerhead, damaging your hull and shaking the sub, so all the crewmates are gonna get injured. It's really fast so escaping isn't an option if it spotted you.

Charybdis can spot you from a very big distance, and I wouldn't recommend fighting it if you are a noob, low on ammunition.

Screenshots were taken on Kastrull and I met charybdis at 4200 meters in the abyss.
