The Prototype Steam Cannon is a unique Flamer variant. It differs with the latter by not causing fires and being usable in water.

Function

The Prototype Steam Cannon is a short range weapon, which spews a constant stream of steam, fed by Welding Fuel. It needs a source of fuel to function: Welding Fuel Tank and Incendium Fuel Tank are both valid sources of Fuel (with Incendium fuel tanks lasting about twice as long).

The Prototype Steam Cannon inflicts high Burn damage to the targets, and will also cause minor burns to the user.

Unlike most weapons, the Prototype Steam Cannon does not cause any Stun nor does it have any stopping power, and while it deals a notable amount of damage in a short time, it does nothing to prevent Creatures from getting close enough to attack the user.

The prototype steam Cannon can be used to deal with ballast flora.

Usage

The Prototype Steam Cannon is held with both hands and must be loaded with Welding Fuel Tank or Incendium Fuel Tank to be used. As with all weapons and tools, using it is done by holding the Right Mouse Right-click to take aim, then by Left Mouse Left-clicking to shoot/use. Holding down Left Mouse lets the user fire continuously until fuel runs out. The projectile sprites do not represent the weapon's hitbox, damage is dealt in a hitscan cone that does not bounce off walls.
