“ | Successor to the classic Orca series, this submarine boasts the same three-ballast setup which allows it to ascend and descend with only a moments notice. Well armed and equipped for a scout vessel, Orca2 is capable of taking on all but the most dangerous denizens of europa. | „ |
–In-game description |
The The Orca 2 is a scout class submarine.
Notable Features
The Orca 2 is very maneuverable and boasts triple ballast tanks with large pumps. Comes with only one well placed ventral coilgun, but as a standard with a well placed chaingun too. The Orca 2 has slightly smaller ballast tanks, but it is still almost as agile as the original version of the sub. The Orca2 bridge has been upgraded with more automated systems, lights and alarms for batteries, airlock, fire, flood and reactor meltdown. It also comes with a water quantity detector system placed in each ballast tank, with automated lights handily placed on the level above. The system shows the current water levels of each tank in an analogue manner, so the crew can get an immediate at-a-glance idea of whether the orca is moving up or down. The Orca 2 has only 4 Crates of Cargo Capacity, but 7 suit lockers, making it easy to venture out from either top or bottom airlock.
Layout
The Orca 2 is well compartmentalized and flexible in its layout. In comparison to the Orca 1, the outer hull is almost the same, though interior is shuffled around. It has fewer ladders, making it harder to move around in, but it has excellent dive rooms and suit lockers where needed. The two default turrets cover most of the ship except the front top of the sub, where the sub has a hardpoint.
Wi-Fi Channels
This submarine does not use Wi-Fi.
Trivia
- The Orca 2 is a retrofitted version of the Orca
- The Orca 2 is named after the killer whale of the same name, and in this retrofitted version it also received the black and white colors of its namesake.
