The Mudraptor Hatchling is a baby variant of the Mudraptor.
Description
The Mudraptor Hatchling is significantly smaller than the Mudraptor. Its skin is underdeveloped, still being covered in blood and the gooey insides of the egg. Their teeth and claws are softer than the typical Mudraptor, and they lack the armor that develops with age. Despite their stature, they are still a threat to those around them, especially if their prey underestimates its ability.
Mudraptor Hatchlings are self-sufficient from birth and will naturally start hunting alone.
In-game
Mudraptor Hatchlings can only spawn from Mudraptor Eggs. These can be found in infested Abandoned Outposts or in a Mudraptor Nest.
Due to their smaller size, Mudraptor Hatchlings are larger threats than regular Mudraptors when considering swarming tactics. Their natural environment consists of tight spaces and low visibility, which allows them to sneak up on unsuspecting players who are caught off-guard by the hatching process. It is also important to note that wherever a Mudraptor Hatchling swims, a Mudraptor is sure to be close by.
Once birthed, Mudraptor Hatchlings tend to target the nearest Human directly, moving quickly and providing little time for them to react.
