Mission Mode has a number of playable missions, selected at random when the round begins. Two have special conditions: Praise the Honkmother, which requires 35 of the cargo's items to be delivered or more instead of always full cargo to complete the mission and Search and Destroy, which requires multiplayer to be started.
0.10.5.1

Cargo missions
Cargo missions are the easiest (and thus, least rewarding) Missions in the game, they task the Player with delivering a number of items, stored in Cargo Crates, to the destination on the other end of the map. Most Cargo missions require the full cargo to be delivered intact in the original Crate, with Praise the Honkmother being the main exception, as it requires 35 out of 40 items to be delivered.
During the course of the round, the Cargo may be taken out, moved or manipulated as long as the entirety of the Cargo is inside it's original Crate by the time the Submarine docks on the destination.
It's also worth noting that Cargo that is not inside it's Crate will not be removed by the end of the Roundconfirmation needed

Mission Mode has a number of playable Missions, selected at random when the round begins. In Campaign, aside from Search and Destroy, which is a Multiplayer exclusive Mission, all Missions can be unlocked and played. In addition, completing Missions also increases RP of certain Factions depending on the Mission and in an Outpost from which the player receives their Missions.

Certain Missions have special conditions, such as some Cargo Missions don't require the player to deliver all supplies to succeed, which apply to both Mission Mode and Campaign. Most Missions reward positive RP of an Outpost and Factions, except for Praise the Honkmother Mission where upon completion, the player receives both negative and positive RP of their respective Factions.

Cargo Missions
Cargo Missions are the easiest (and thus, least rewarding) Missions in the game. They task the player with delivering a number of items, stored in Cargo Crates, to the destination on the Map where the Mission is available to choose.

Most Cargo Missions require the full cargo to be delivered intact in the original Crate.

It's also worth noting that Cargo that is not inside its Crate will not be removed by the end of the Round.confirmation needed

Explosive Cargo
Explosive Cargo is one of the Cargo Missions the crew may receive. The Cargo is mostly explosive items, so certain precautions should be taken.

There are two variations of this type:

<blockquote>"A local arms dealer is offering 2,000 marks in exchange for delivering two crates of high explosives to a customer in [Mission Location's name]."</blockquote>

This Mission is identical to the Compound N variation, with the only difference being that one of the units of Compound N loaded inside a Detonator is replaced by Volatile Compound N, which will randomly explode after a certain time. In addition, it isn't required to deliver the full Cargo to finish this Mission.

This mission can not be distinguished from Explosive Cargo. The recommended course of action is checking out the Cargo, and jettisoning the Volatile Compound N before it has a chance to blow up, and proceeding as normal
This Mission can not be distinguished from its first variation upon receiving it. The recommended course of action is checking out the Cargo, and jettisoning the Volatile Compound N before it has a chance to blow up, and proceeding as normal.
The mission is completed once the Submarine reaches the destination with the Cargo. The mission is failed if the Submarine reaches the destination and any of the Cargo has been used and/or gone missing.

Bug: This mission is extremely hard to complete, as Volatile Compound N will explode during the round, and fail the requirement of delivering the Cargo intact, jettisoning Volatile Compound N is the wisest choice, but it will also fail the mission. Consider removing the Compound N from the Cargo, and keeping it in the Submarine, so you can use it to greatly enhance Railgun Shells, as it will otherwise be removed when reaching the destinationconfirmation needed
The Mission is completed once the Submarine reaches the destination with the Cargo of at least 25 items. The Mission is failed if the Submarine reaches the destination and the Cargo has fewer than 25 items.

The crew will be required to enter and search the sunken Submarine for the Logbook, which will require a Diving Suit to prevent death from Barotrauma and a Crowbar or a Plasma Cutter to gain entry. The sunken Submarine will also contain other resources which can be salvaged and used by the crew.

It is advised to bring a weapon when entering the sunken vessel as Husks and other Creatures can spawn.

Revision as of 16:08, 3 October 2020

Data is potentially outdated
Last updated for version 0.10.5.1
Last mentioned in changelog 1.2.7.0
The current game version is 1.2.8.0

During the course of the round, the Cargo may be taken out, moved or manipulated as long as the entirety of the Cargo is inside its original Crate by the time the Submarine reaches the destination.

Compound N

id: cargocompoundn

"A local arms dealer is offering 2,000 marks in exchange for delivering two crates of high explosives to a customer in [Mission Location's name]."

The crew is tasked with delivering two crates of 30 explosive items to the end point of the map. One of the crates contains 10 units of Compound N, while the other contains 10 Detonators, each of which contains a unit of Compound N.

The Mission is completed once the Submarine reaches the destination with the Cargo. The Mission is failed if the Submarine reaches the destination and any of the Cargo has been used and/or gone missing.

In Campaign, this Mission can be unlocked in Colony, Military Outpost, both of which are adjacent to an Outpost, and Habitation Outpost adjacent to Colony, Military Outpost, and Mining Outpost.

Volatile Compound N

id: cargovolatilecompoundn

"A local arms dealer is offering 2,000 marks in exchange for delivering two crates of high explosives to a customer in [Mission Location's name]."

This Mission is identical to the Compound N variation, with the only difference being that one of the units of Compound N loaded inside a Detonator is replaced by Volatile Compound N, which will randomly explode after a certain time. In addition, it isn't required to deliver the full Cargo to finish this Mission.

This Mission can not be distinguished from its first variation upon receiving it. The recommended course of action is checking out the Cargo, and jettisoning the Volatile Compound N before it has a chance to blow up, and proceeding as normal.

The Mission is completed once the Submarine reaches the destination with the Cargo of at least 25 items. The Mission is failed if the Submarine reaches the destination and the Cargo has fewer than 25 items.

In Campaign, this Mission can be unlocked in Colony and Military Outpost, both of which are adjacent to an Outpost.

Bug: This mission is extremely hard to complete, as Volatile Compound N will explode during the round, and fail the requirement of delivering the Cargo intact. Jettisoning Volatile Compound N is the wisest choice, but it will also fail the Mission. Consider removing the Compound N from the Cargo, and keeping it in the Submarine, so you can use it to greatly enhance Railgun Shells, as it will otherwise be removed when reaching the destination.confirmation needed

Chemical Shipment

id: cargochemicals

"Reseachers of [Current Outpost's name] need someone to deliver some dangerous chemicals to [Mission Location's name] for a reward of 1,500 marks."

The crew is tasked with delivering two Crates of 20 Chemicals to the destination, and ensuring that the entirety of the Cargo reaches the destination intact. One cargo contains 5 units of Fentanyl and 5 units of Sulphuric Acid. The other contains 5 units of Morbusine, 3 units of Flash Powder, and 2 units of Chloral Hydrate.

The Mission is completed once the Submarine reaches the destination with the Cargo. The Mission is failed if the Submarine reaches the destination and any of the Cargo has been used and/or gone missing.

In Campaign, this Mission can be unlocked in Colony, Habitation Outpost, and Research Outpost, all of which are adjacent to an Outpost.

Biohazard

id: cargohuskeggs

"Local researchers are offering 1,900 marks for delivering a container of husk parasite eggs to [Mission Location's name]."

The crew is tasked with delivering a Crate containing 10 units of Velonaceps Calyx Eggs (also known as Husk Eggs) to the destination.

Despite the apparent danger of Husk eggs, this Mission is not actually dangerous at all, as the only way to become infected by the Husk eggs is to voluntarily ingest them or to be injected by a rogue player, and still, Calyxanide can be fabricated from the Velonaceps Calyx Eggs to fight any infection.

The Mission is completed once the Submarine reaches the destination with the Cargo. The Mission is failed if the Submarine reaches the destination and any of the Cargo has been used and/or gone missing.

In Campaign, this Mission can be unlocked in Colony, Military Outpost, and Research Outpost, all of which are adjacent to an Outpost.

Handle With Care

id: cargonitroglycerin

"Local researchers are offering 2,000 marks for delivering a large amount of nitroglycerin to [Mission Location's name]."

The crew is tasked with delivering two Crates of 20 explosives, each containing 10 units of Nitroglycerin, to the destination.

This Mission is extremely dangerous, as Nitroglycerin will explode if subjected to an impact strong enough. This may be caused by poor handling of the Crate, or by being pushed by large Creatures such as a Moloch.

The Mission is completed once the Submarine reaches the destination with the Cargo. The mission is failed if the Submarine reaches the destination and any of the Cargo has exploded and/or gone missing.

In Campaign, this Mission can be unlocked in all Outpost types, excluding Mining Outpost, adjacent to an Outpost.

The rare Mission tasks the crew with delivering two Crates full of Clown Ensemble related items to the destination.

The Mission is completed once the Submarine reaches the destination with at least 35 out of the starting 40 Clown items in the original Crates.

In Campaign, this Mission can be unlocked in every type of Outpost adjacent to an Outpost.

Salvaging An Artifact

"Researchers of [Current Outpost's name] have picked up an infrasonic signal highly similar to those emitted by alien artifacts previously discovered on Europa. Investigate the signal and retrieve the potential artifact."

The player is required to retrieve one of the five Alien Artifacts: Faraday Alien Artifact, Nasonov Alien Artifact, Psychosis Alien Artifact, Sky Alien Artifact, and Thermal Alien Artifact from an alien ruin or cave system and bring it back or to the next destination:

 • Faraday Alien Artifact:
 1. Cave: id: salvagefaradayartifactcave

 1. Ruins: id: salvageskyholderartifactruins
 • Thermal Alien Artifact:
 1. Cave: id: salvagethermalartifactcave
 2. Ruins: id: salvagethermalartifactruins

This can notably cause hassle for players - both in the form of the Fractal Guardians that can occasionally be found guarding the ruins, and the dangerous Thermal and Sky Alien Artifacts themselves. On top of that, the Artifact can uncommonly be a Moloch instead of an Artifact, which the player is then required to kill to get their reward.

In Campaign, this Mission can only be unlocked in Colony, Habitation Outpost, both of which are adjacent to Research Outpost, Natural Formation, or Breeding Grounds, and Research Outpost.

Wreck Salvage

"[Current Outpost's name] just received a fragmented distress call from a vessel that was thought to have been lost along with some highly sensitive encrypted data. Retrieve the captain's logbook as a priority and return it."

The crew is tasked with locating the sunken Submarine (which is a Dugong). The location of the captain's Logbook will be marked on the Sonar screen.

Monster Missions

Monster Missions are ones requiring the player to terminate certain Creatures of Europan ocean. In Campaign, these Missions can be unlocked in every Outpost.

There are two types of these Missions:

The player is sent to kill an aggressive Creature that has been terrorizing Submarines. After doing so, the player can either return to the Outpost they've just left or reach the end point of the destination to receive their reward.
