ID Cards are essential items that can be used in Barotrauma.
Normal ID Card
The Normal ID Card is the standard Card possessed by any active crew members of the Submarine. There are two variants: Personal and Default.
Personal ID Card
Whenever a character spawns, they are given a Personal ID Card by default, which has detailed information on themselves and their role. Depending on the job the character has, they will be given one with a unique clearance level specific to that job. The Card is primarily used for opening doors on the submarine which are inaccessible without proper clearance.
The captain has superior access to the rest of the jobs, and is capable of accessing any rooms, excluding the private cabins of the other crew members. It is however possible to steal the captain's ID card from them when they are dead or unconscious.
ID cards can be purchased from Habitation and Colony Outposts. The card gets assigned the appropriate tags for the character doing the purchase.
Default ID Card
The Default ID Card that does not specify the owner and its clearance level is only found inside any Cabinets of a shipwreck. Its clearance level is random and more limited than the one with specific details, only capable of gaining access to certain types of hulls.
Pirate ID Card
The Pirate ID Card is used by pirate ship crew. Note when wearing a Pirate ID Card and camouflaging the face (e.g. by wearing a diving suit), pirate ship crew might consider the user as own ship crew. Like the Shipwreck ID Card, it gives the user appropriate access to most parts of the pirate ship and can only be obtained from a deceased or unconsious member of the pirate crew.
Shipwreck ID Card
The Shipwreck ID Card is only useful when exploring a shipwreck from which it is found. It works exactly like a normal Personal ID Card, giving the user appropriate access to most parts of the wreck depending on the original owner's profession.
It can only be obtained from a deceased member of the shipwreck.
Pet Name Tag
The Pet Name Tag can be used to rename a pet. This is done by first equipping the name tag, then entering a name in the text box. Next, the name tag must be placed in the pets inventory, which can be accessed by grabbing it.
