In-game descriptions:
- Ballistic Helmet: While the helmet won't offer adequate protection against most of the inhabitants of the subsurface ocean, it can be extremely useful if there are traitors on board.
- Riot Helmet: Designed for crowd control but equally useful against alien invaders.
- Gunner's Helmet: A bit lighter than a regular ballistic helmet; designed not to get in the way when one is operating a periscope.
Trivia
- Despite the Ballistic Helmet's in-game description stating that it "won't offer adequate protection against most of the inhabitants of the subsurface ocean", it does protect well against several common creature-inflicted afflictions, most notably Bite Wounds.
- Security Officers used to start with one of the Helmets as part of their loadouts.
