The Cthulhu (or Balloon) is one of the four Pets added in Vanilla 0.10.6.0 as part of the Halloween update: Creepy Creature Feature.
Description
The Cthulhu retains its signature octopus-like head whose face is a mass of feelers, though its body is of a dragon with a pair of wings and a tail. This is the only Pet that flies by flapping its wings and never touches the ground.
For Halloween, it holds a jack-o'-lantern in its arms, despite not being lit.
Unlike other Pets, the Cthulhu has no audio.
In-game
The Cthulhu can be played with every 6 seconds. It also has 2 inventory slots that can be accessed when alive and grabbed by the player. If the pet dies, the body will splatter and any contents in its inventory will be destroyed.
When well-fed (0-30% Hunger), the Cthulhu will start producing some items, most commonly a pile of Poop. At 80% Happiness and beyond, there is a 30% chance it will lay a Strange Egg.
