The Coilgun is a stationary weapon in Barotrauma. It is composed of three installations: the Coilgun proper (which itself is made up of the base and barrel), the Periscope, and the Coilgun Loader. The Coilgun requires Ammunition Boxes, a Periscope and power to function.

Function and Usage

Coilguns shoot bolts through the water at high velocity, dealing damage on hit to any characters or structure they hit. With their high rate of fire, inexpensive ammunition, they make for a good general weapon.

Periscopes are used to aim and fire the Coilgun. Firing the Coilgun draws power from a connected Supercapacitor and Coilgun ammunition from the Coilgun's Coilgun Loader.

Coilguns have a large cone of light pointing at where they are aimed. This light requires no power.

Different coilgun ammunition may be loaded into the loader for different attacks.
