The Bone Thresher is an armored eel-like monster from the Depths of Europa, commonly seen alongside groups of Tiger Threshers.

Description

Bone Threshers are moray-like creatures with a rough, heavily armored body, a gaping maw and two small lateral fins. Their body is dark, but heavily protected by large plates of bone-like armor (giving it the Bone Thresher name). Like their smaller relatives, Bone Threshers have no visible eyes and a jaw filled with many razor-sharp teeth.

Bone Threshers can be found alongside pods of Tiger Threshers, in groups of up to three individuals (depending on the difficulty).

In-game

Bone Threshers are capable of doing heavy damage to the hulls of a submarine with a single attack, and are fast for their size (albeit not as much as their smaller relatives). They will prioritize chasing after light and will mercilessly hunt any other living creatures by inflicting heavy bleeding on their prey with their jaws.

Railguns are the preferential way of dealing with Thresher pods, however, a Bone Thresher can take more than 3 shots, so it's recommended to load the Shells with C-4 Blocks or heavier loads if available and to focus fire on their unarmored head. Bone Threshers are the anchor of Thresher swarms, and dispatching them will greatly rise your chances of survival. In the event of a Thresher attack, Mechanics should be on the ready to quickly fix any breach.

Bone Threshers can not enter the Submarine due to their bulky body.

Hunting a Bone Thresher yields no loot.
