Batteries (not to be confused with battery cells) are stationary installations able to store and release electrical power.
Function
Batteries are useful to stabilize the submarine's power:
- they absorb power when the Nuclear Reactor overproduces and menaces to overload and damage connected devices;
- when the Nuclear Reactor fails to provide enough currents for devices to function (be it because the reactor doesn't produce enough, is not connected to the device anymore, or is destroyed), batteries still provides power for a time, hopefully long enough to fix the problem.
Moreover, up to 3 battery cells or fulgurium battery cells at a time can be placed into the battery to be recharged.
Usage
In practical terms, batteries can store up to 2.000 units of power; they can store up energy at a rate of up to 500 units per time unit, but can deliver electricity at a rate of 1.000 units par time unit.
