Hello everyone!
The next update is now almost here, so let’s take a final look at what you’re going to find, heading once more unto the breach.
PvP overhaul
First things first, we’ve overhauled the PvP mode in its entirety, adding two new mission types: King of the Hull and Outpost Deathmatch. Additionally, look forward to new and smaller maps, new methods of boarding the enemy sub, and a perk point system for PvP and mission mode. There are also various smaller improvements to this gamemode, and a lot of new settings to customize PvP gameplay to your liking. And of course, custom maps are supported, so we hope to see you get creative!
This overhaul should bring PvP up to par with the rest of the game, and we hope you’ll have fun battling your friends and enemies! Read more about the PvP overhaul in our previous blog post.

Alien ruin improvements
We’ve made significant improvements to alien ruins, adding new modules, traps and puzzles, as we wanted to make ruin exploration exciting again even for those players who have already delved every corner of Europa. With the ruin improvements come a few new events that will shed new light on the origins of the ruins, and their relevance on the present day.
On a related note, we’ve rebalanced the gene splicing system to give you more and better uses for the genetic materials you find, and we’ve also added a handful of new and highly powerful items you can craft from Dementonite. This should make exploring ruins not just interesting, but also profitable.

Three new husks
The update also adds three entirely new enemies, all of them of the husk variety. Be on the lookout for the agile Husk Prowler, the tanky Exosuit Husk, and, late into the game, the deadly Husk Chimera. Stay sharp, or close the hulls up with your Europan dead.
Read more about these new dangers in the same post as the ruin improvements, above.

36 new outpost modules
The Unto the Breach update also brings new life to outposts, as we add a total of 36 new modules. Most of these modules were submitted by a community member, so a big thank you to NotWendy for all this added outpost variety! We’ve also made a few new modules of our own – a bath house, a nightclub, and storage modules – as well as a couple of new events to be found at the new storage modules.
To make sure you also encounter all this new variation, we’ve adjusted how outposts are generated, so they won’t all look the same or have the same number of rooms. Modders note: this new parameter is called module probability, and you can make use of it yourself when making custom outposts.
Take a good look around, next time you visit an outpost, and let us know what you think!

Fixes and improvements
The update wouldn’t be complete without the usual list of fixes and improvements; stay tuned for the whole list next week, and until then, here are some of our favorites:
- Significant medic AI improvements.
- Several performance fixes and optimizations.
- Added the ability to load saves from back-up save slots, rather than just one save slot per campaign (allows going back further into the past, to avoid getting stuck)
- New fixes to the frequently occurring “mission equality check failed” errors.
- Fixed logbooks sometimes spawning in locked cabinets in wreck missions, which may make the mission impossible to complete if there’s no corpse with an appropriate ID card in the wreck.
- Adjusted the low pass filter that muffles audio.
- Multiplexer and demultiplexer components for advanced circuit makers.
- One-handed riot shields.
Coming next week
The Unto the Breach update will be released next week, so be ready! Until then, check out some new music… the PvP mode has not only new maps and missions, but also new remixes, and here’s one:
